Rudolph Day February

Hi there
Happy Rudolph Day!

It's Rudolph Day again.......25th of the month,
and that means another christmas card....

I used Merry Mice again....

and watercolour pencils....

different papers .....

this last one shows how I cut an A4 sheet lengthwise....
the mice trio lends itself to a wide card......and sometimes we use half an A4 for a tent style...
just to show it in a different light....as a half fold but wide instead of tall....
I'm rambling...

so.....do go to the Rudolph Day Challenge
and see everyones efforts, and say Hi...
and it's a special dedication to Scrappy Mo's Mum....

Have a GREAT weekend

Brighter Days to come

This is another Sarn-enabling creation using her stencil to create the circles
(you can easily make your own using punches or dies)
and she showed how to put a shadow around each edge which makes it more 3-D

I then added an image from Beautiful You, and coloured her in.
I then smudged a bit, so inked round the edges to disguise my grubby finger mark!

Wishing You Many Brighter Days

tick tock

I was lucky to have Sarn to play one day, and she lent me her stencil to ink through,
which I then put to one side.

Later I added some stamping and embossing powder,
I wanted to keep it flat for posting,
but I really think I should have matted and layered it.

Butterflies over the edge

This make n take was brought by Ros Maggs recently.
Loved using the Papillon Potpourri Butterflies again.

we snipped off the edge of the card front,
and added punched butterflies.....I should have pictured it closed as well.

The strange thing was........Ros and I had the same idea.....

.....and Ros and Liz used the same stamp sets and punch....

We don't think that has ever happened before,
we normally all pick different things.....
isn't there a name for when the planets align.....??!!

Butterflies in Black and White

It had been a while since playing with Flower Shop and Papillon Potpourri,
so I was pleased that Liz brought this make n take recently.

There are 3 panels stamped with different features,
and some punched black butterflies and rhinestones for dimension and dazzle

Dragonfly Dreams

I needed a swap for a play day,
and I'd seen the idea of cutting away a strip of card front and adding a die cut to the edge.

This was my first attempt, but without the black strip

I then decided to bling it up, so went with the gold glimmer paper

I then added the black strip, which seemed to balance the first one,
and so I couldn't decide which one I preferred.
Which do you like, if any?!

Beautiful You in Delightful Dijon

Not a colour I would normally try, but I think it really worked with this card
(mind you.....I suspect ANY colour looks good with this Stamp Set)

I used paper piecing, colouring with pens, and using the brush stroke as a background.

Hope you are having a Delightful Dijon Day

Beautiful You in Blue

This was my first attempt at a pop up and twist card,
and it has to be my favourite

I made it for my sister who teaches Medau keep fit classes,
in fact she is
Choreographer, Senior Trainer and Teacher of Movement, Dance, Exercise

they use balls and hoops and scarves and that kind of thing

I winked the balls to make them shine

I used the mirror image technique with my stamp-a-ma-jig
and coloured with the old SU Blender pens

I don't often get this kind of comment " Absolutely wonderful birthday card you have made"

this is one of their displays
Image may contain: 1 person

This is one of my sister's events, email if you want any more info:

Image may contain: 6 people, text
Hope you are enjoying the weekend

Beautiful You

I have made a number of cards using the Beautiful You Stamp Set
that has taken the world by storm.....stamping wise anyway!

Using a very popular of-the-moment fancy fold
pop-up-and-twist (comes by various other names too:) )

This one's Watermelon Wonder
and all were inspired by a shoe box swap from Linda Kasparian

See her original version on her blog

Pop by for more and have a happy weekend

NBUS

Some of you may wonder what the title means?
NBUS = Never Before Used Stuff
I bet you have loads don't you?!

It was an idea of Darnell of djkardkreations
who is celebrating 5 years of her blog.

Do pop over to her blog and stay a while...
she is a very funny and very talented lady,
with lots of talented followers, and a fab playhouse.

So, onto my card

I still had Merry Mice out,
along with a tutorial for a mini....and I mean mini....pop up and twist card.

To show you how small, I put it against the one from the other day.
The card base is only 3" square.....

so you can imagine how small the pop out bit is....

the little stamped pics are roughly 1 1/2" x 1"

so, that's most of that stamp set christened!

I hope your week is going well
