and also how my blogging has slipped somewhat!

These go back to May or June.....swaps received from a training day,
apologies if there's any names missing :(

sorry lost the name

Have a good day,

September Rudolph Day

Well, can you believe it's the 25th of the month again already?!
Nope, neither can I, but here goes with some more xmas cards
to celebrate the Rudolph Day Challenge....

I really should have added a strip of something on the diagonal line of the pine one.....

More of that Embossing Paste!

Morning!
not the greatest start for me......
you know when you want to just do something quick and move on....
nah......my usual photo editing package has changed their terms,
and I 'ain't paying!

so, whilst I need time to get to grips, this will have to do!

These are my samples.....

so if you have any questions, please ask......

meantime it's just picture heavy, but you get the drift......or the paste...

here's some of the class creations.....

I hope you enjoyed looking.

A p.s. to yesterday's post that I wrote so badly, I confooosed some....
The reference to me and him, and himself  was to my Alan, and not Dad.
Just so you know it's him indoors thats the acrobat at the bottom of the stairs.
(If I've just confused you more, just ignore me, I'm waffling :)

Have a Super Sunday

Embossing Paste? Love it!!!

Hiya
Hope all is well with you and yours.

The usual mixture here!
My Dad's in Hospital again, but getting better.
Me and him went away recently, and we hadn't been there half an hour,
Himself slipped on the stairs and cracked a back rib, ouch!
Not quite the "break" we were hoping for!
Went to a Commemoration yesterday, for the Mum of a dear friend.
We are looking after a dog for the week, and she makes us smile the whole time ,
so she has brought the 'life balance' we needed!

Anyhow, you just came to see what I made didn't you,
so here goes......

I just love love love the Stampin' Up! Embossing Paste,
so light and fluffy, like a lovely soft mousse......

I mixed different colour inks with small amounts
(it goes a long long way)
and spread it, like butter on toast.
It is soooooo easy!

It really doesn't matter if the colours mix (try to avoid muddy colours though ;) )
I like the effect.
If anyone's new to ruffling ribbon........this is one of the first things I learnt with SU.....
works well with seam binding, or anything you can see the threads in.
Fray the end, and grab a strand from near the centre. (Tweezers help)
Pull gently, ruffling as you go ...............
do not cut the ribbon off the real until you have the desired length......
otherwise you just pull the thread right through and have to start again.....
guess how I know?!

I used the Label Me Pretty to add a simple decoration,
so that the background is the main event.

Have a great weekend,
I'll be back with lots more pasted things if you can bear it!

Fancy Foil

Take some Fancy Foil, die cut a greeting,

 ink over the kraft card,

polish it to remove excess from foil

 Die cut a different sheet,

inlay greeting,

 add some candy

If you cut them from two sheets in the same way

you get two cards made quick and simple.

Put them in the sunshine to glisten

Happy Days!

You Move Me too or two

Hiya
Humming bird again....no apologies, its so cute and clever!

Made a tri-fold card with a pocket to hold the moving bird inside the slatted frame.
Kept the rest simple, with just a cone flower to decorate, and a leaf for the pull-tab.

Made a decorative panel for inside

Itty Bitty Butterflies

Anyone remember those little butterflies?
Did you forget you'd got them somewhere?
Came in handy for a sparkly card with those large letters again

You Move Me Hummingbird

I was very impressed by a card made by Shelly Godby visit her blog post HERE

It uses the You Move Me set, but here I've unashamedly copied the lovely design of Shelly,
and used the non 'moving' parts.
There's a stamp set and matching framelits.
I inked the hummingbird in tempting  turquoise, dipped the edges in pacific point,
die cut him and the flowers, leaves, stamens.
Cut a square aperture to use as a mask, inked inside the square with sponge brayer.

I liked it so much I made another, this time using a dauber to ink up the bird and flowers.

I love the two tone look, and the added enamel dots.

Oliver

Mojo absent, needed card for a boy....Large Number Framelits to the rescue!

Birthday Banners helped too.....

simple is best sometimes!

I'm sure he'll like what's inside the card....

.....as well as some birthday cash obviously!

(do you like how I used some enamel shapes to hold the balloon string in place?)

A one layer musical leaf

I'm going to get you singing on this one!

I created a mask using Leaflet Framelits.
Laid the leaf mask on my topper, stamped in Versamark and embossed Sheet Music in copper powder.

Added happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, this is where you start singing :)

Laid the background mask, so just the leaf shape aperture showing,
added yellow ink, then a moon mask, more ink, more colours, gradually building up shade and depth,

Stamped parts of Nature Sings, the deer and trees, coloured them in with marker pens
to make them stand out a bit, added some twine over some new copper ribbon.

It's all one layer, but hope it looks a bit 3-D ?
Might need a bit more practice......take a look at Barbara Gray from Clarity Stamps
for some much more professional projects.......

Hope the birthday boy liked it....he's very into his music....
are you still singing?....
"happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear...."

Team Play Day

We had another team play day a little while ago,
a shoe box swap was the main activity, along with much chatter, a fun day indeed.

Liz brought this idea.....mine was a bit off balance....think I was too busy chatting :)

much later on, I added some rhinestones......still not quite happy but hey ho,
I did have some mini poinsettias left over for another time....

This was Jan's take on a Kim Fee card.....love the crumpled seam binding....
hate that I stuck my background on upside down, and the circle the right way up...
resulting in a mismatch......cock-up number two!

Sarn brought us this Tryptic (?) card....
stamped the panel, inked it in blue, yellow, green,
then chopped it in 3 and mounted......yay I think I did ok on this one!

The lovely thing about card making, is there are no rules, no right or wrong,
just a card made with love, to send to someone you care about!
