Sweets & Treats in a box

 'Twas the night before christmas........

I cased copied this idea from Lisasstampstudio...........a Buckle card using Sweets & Treats

The left edge of the topper tucks into a slot to keep the card closed

I made quite a few for friends.
There's lots of glossy accents, sparkle and glitz that doesn't show up

I then packaged some treats in boxes and used the card as the decoration.
It sits nicely on top of the treats, hides the contents and I liked the plain look

It was a good way of using up papers too!

Happy Christmas Eve to you, sleep well, otherwise he won't come ;),
and enjoy your day tomorrow

Let it Snow

 Well, I hope it doesn't actually :)

This card and the one on christmas day were made from kits gifted by a friend,

she is a lover of die cuts, and has some beauties.

I’m entering this one on the Allsorts Challenge Blog
Where the theme is winter…..brrrrrrr
Keep warm!

Playful Penguin and more Baubles

I made this fancy fold from an idea of Kim Fee (I think!)

A quick fun card

That opens to reveal another penguin friend

I then needed yet another card, so copied my Snippets one recently,
this time adding big pearly sparkly  Opal Rounds

and some natural twine

Sending love

A couple more to share before the big day....

I like the embossed background and strip of dazzling paper.
Like Val said, she can't see where she's going though!

A final Poinsettia using the lovely music embossing folder which a brushed some ink over

I felt no sentiment required on this one

Whimsy and Wonder quick cards

I hope you don't need any more cards to send this christmas,

but if you do, or want to start next years, here's some quick ideas

using the Whimsy and Wonder DSP

The paper does all the work, then I made another gift card holder,
which I'm keeping for next year's, unless I lose it or come up with another idea!

the gems are gorgeous

and there's a lovely lot of dies including a rectangular wreath

I love the colours too.....Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent

Deck The Halls at the Snippets Playground

Today's card is for a very special occasion over at Pixie's Crafty Workshop

where there is a special christmas challenge

Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #418

Lots of super prizes if you enter with a christmas themed project using snippets

I'd seen an idea, that sparked an idea in my head. I sat down to try it out. and one of those rare moments I was pleasantly surprised at how it turned out. As ever, it's better in real life, honest!

Step one, glue strips of designer series paper snippets to some spare card or copy paper. (See below).
Then stamp and cut out your images, in this case, using a Punch.

I then stamped a bough to hang my baubles, glued them in place,
added sentiment, some metallic pearls, and gold bows from snippets of thread.

I matted it onto another snippet of paper to give a nice border.
I then used another snippet of paper to decorate the envelope flap, and stamped the same images.

I do hope you'll join in! There'll be mulled wine and sausage rolls up in the Tree House,
Maybe even mince pies?! That's as long as Miss Di and Dudley don't eat them all haha.

See if you can win the keys to the Playground.

Magical Day

A card for a young girl, everyone loves a mermaid don’t they?

I grabbed some paper Snippets from my stash, cut out a mermaid and  two seahorses.

Used another Snippet for the background.

Stamped and die cut the sentiment from a snippet of white, stamped it again,

And overlaid the “magical”.

I was going to enter the Snippetts Playground, but alas again I’m late!

BUT still pop over to see the FABULOUS Christmas competition where there’s some awesome prizes on offer, loads of ideas for using up your scraps snippets, and inspiration galore…….not forgetting the mulled wine and sausage rolls in the treehouse;)

Found a snippet of “floating seaweed” (well it is now lol), for her to sit on.
I lightly watercoloured it. (It’s from Eden’s Garden).
And gave her a shell and seahorse to cuddle.

Hopefully it made her day a little more magical

Case the Catalogue

Today's card came about by caseing the catalogue.
Do you need inspiration? Has your mojo got up and gone?
The Stampin' Up1 Catalogues are full of inspiration....colours, layout, techniques etc.
Talented designers create projects to showcase the products.

The background was dry embossed, then given a faux embossed look using die cuts of the same colour.
The die cut leaves were placed around randomly, snipped to fit.
Die cut stitched squares were used as the focal point,
(see how it's slightly offset from the layer underneath?.....adds a bit more interest)

Stamped and die cut leaves in different colours were added and snipped to fit.
(see if you can gind the page this design is on)
If you need inspiration do grab your catalogue.....it's called an ideas book for a reason!

Fancy Fold Butterflies

I made these cards from a Gail Ellis design.

You can see her video here: https://youtu.be/bUTF40yd7R4

It's a lovely fancy fold that stands really well, and can be oriented on it's side too.
I'm afraid I loved her design so much I used very similar elements.
You can see it works in any colourway too...

Here's a birds eye view....

.....and some of the detail....

spot the difference in a hug

I had two friends who had major operations at almost the same time,

so decided the quickest way was to make two cards the same.

I had an old wooden stamp that was fitting, and a sentiment from So Sentimental.

I did the second one with a small tweek, can you spot the difference?

A teeny heart dots the "i", and gems add some sparkle

The papers are quite old, from a valentine themed set I think.

I coloured the bears with blend pens, taking care not to go over the lines of this tiny image.
The difference is not the stripey paper,
but that I took the white twine over it, then under the topper (below right).
A small tweek but it is a tad more prominent than the card below left.
